And I'm back :*(

Posted by Luis - October 20th, 2008

Back to the daily grind. I absolutely recommend that anyone who can possibly manage to make it out to Iceland to do so when the Airwaves Music Festival is going on. It can best be described as a Sundance Film Festival but for music. Theres like all these venues with acts going on simultaneously and it was so cool to just hop around and absorb all different types of sounds. On Saturday they had a performance going on at the Blue Lagoon which was unreal, it was cool to be soaking in some thermal spring or whatever it is... and have all this music going on and shit.

I'll throw together a mini-photo gallery thing and plug it on my next post for anyone who regularly likes to monitor my activities. I think my favorite part of the trip was turning off my phone, my computer and any other form of communication with the western world. I recommend people do that atleast quarterly.... its like refreshing to not be tied down by technology and peoples need to get a hold of you. fuck em... get back to shit in a few days. The world will somehow manage.

In other news, I'm going to pick up where I left off in the sketchbook tour, I also have some stuff i owe TheBoogley and get back to my other shit going on.

Ok thats all for now, heres sumthin.

And I'm back :*(

Hi Luis.

The trip sounded amazing. If only everyone had the uncanny ability to travel the world like you, Luis.

I think its all in the mind mostly. Yea its an expense to go on vacations but alot of people dont like to go outside their comfort zones. I think alot of people could go places if they wanted to, they just start coming up with excuses to discourage themselves... like 'ooh well i dont know anyone there' or 'i dont speak the language'... etc etc.

If the opportunity is there just take it, life gives you like these rare opportunities to do things and they may never present themeselves again. You should go for it, the world is your oyster.

get back to work.

That is surreal. When I went up north, I wasn't used to all the mountains and it felt different. But those piles of rock right there look like trash bags...filthy Icelanders.

I always wanted to go to iceland and study the geology there. I bet that was a freaking kick ass time there.

It is an interesting geological part of the world. It was kind of interesting how so much of the land is unused.. or unusable even... the dry lava rock and how it hogs up most of the land was interesting. Its a far cry from the vacations I like to take which are mostly busy city life and stuff.

Iceland is cool (see what I did there?)

How's their economy doing?

Its hard to say.. I spoke with many locals, and while the spirit was optimistic during the festival, i think in general that the mood feels very betrayed. Its pretty unfortunate situation cause everyone over there was superfriendly.

So how did you like iceland?
Eh?
eh?
eh?
eeeeeh??

oh shush we talk plenty on msn already

hey was there alot of ice on Iceland ?

I monitor your activities, I NEED TO KNOW WHEN THE TOUR IS FINISHED! D:

That spring really really looks amazing. It must be awesome to just shut off all electronics and stuff and just relax. I really need to relax =P. Anyway i really wanna go to a meet in London but of course i cant just fly over there like *snap of fingers* that. Hold one in Philly! Or the east coast ;). Either way, glad you had a good trip man.

I've been to Iceland and enjoyed my stay immensely. I hope to go again in the future. The blue lagoon really is awesome...

Seck-say!

God, that looks uncomfortable.

I'm glad mindchamber didn't fuck up this po...oh wait he about to.

That lagoon thing looks amazing, your telling me i can float, be warm, listen to music and discreetly empty my bladder all at the same time?!

Iceland sounds like a wacky place.

Iceland? You lucky bastard. :P

P.S.- buzzcock
