"crude yet very stylish im confused"

submission: a lovely day
date: May 1, 2003

This animation was a good example of how something can be crudely drawn and unpolished and still be good in its own right. Good choice of music and overall good concept. I guess the only thing that i would desire would be something a little longer. With something not as detailed as this you can really afford to put another couple days and really add to the substance without losing alot of sleep. Overall good little flick and worth the viewing, continue with this style its quite refreshing.

"fun to watch"

date: July 23, 2001

It was pretty entertaining to watch the rythm is nice and quick like the background music that it is paired with. The animation is pretty sharp and fluid. If i had to be picky id say to treat every scene with the same amount of care. There's some scenes which are just beautifully drawn and animated and theres others that just dont feel up to par with what you've set me up for in quality and its a little disconcerting. Youve got pretty good drawing skills and so i think its just a matter of putting extra time to making sure all parts of the movie are up to the level of quality that youve developed. Otherwise good job.

Dead Baby Dressup 3

"Wicked and fun"

date: May 24, 2001

Ive never played any of the other db dressups but this one was quite good, lots of choices keeps things interesting and the graphics are fresh and well drawn. If i had to be picky maybe you could organize things a little better now that your dealing with so many things, it starts to get a little too crammed and crowded sifting through all those objects, maybe you could split it up into bins with categories so that upon clicking it the assortment would change according to the category you chose from.. (ex. legs bin, arms bin, etc) speakin of arms coulda used a couple more arms to play around with. Overall good job.

"nice series"

date: May 18, 2001

I must say i was pleasantly surprised by how long the clip turned out to be. Anyways good characters, dialogue was good, the lip syncing was sharp and the pacing was good. From an optimizing standpoint you could probably do away with going over board on gradients on some instances. For example during the driving scene where they are listening to music.. you could get away with not using gradients on the trees passing by... itll bump down your file size some. Also work on making your backgrounds as strong as your characters at some points they seemed neglected. Good job and keep em coming

Hey thanks Big Lou- I'll definitely change the backgrounds and shit to cut down the file size- I didn't realize that gradients slowed stuff down- Thanks again

"niccce"

date: May 18, 2001

Good job, it was hilarious. The sound was excellent and the flow was also equally pleasing. If i had to be picky from an animators standpoint id say be very observant of the lip syncing many times you can get away with holding a mouth gesture longer over major sylables rather than trying to animate a mouth movement for every word, otherwise the animation is gonna lag behind the sound all the time, so to counter that you have to disregard tryin to animate minor sylables so that the beginning of a dialog and the end match up exactly with the sound. Anyways enough technical shit. good job

very different approach to the hole violence in school from what i did but im quite pleased with what i see here its very cynical and cleverly drawn and presented.. and yes that gun sure is well drawn.. excellente job-o... if i had to be picky id say choose a less generic crowd sound.. the one your using is too "crowded room of adults in an auditorium" if that makes any sense.. it doesnt feel like a school atmostphere sound .. but thats minor really.

luis

Author's Response:

Holy shit...I'm impressed. It actually IS the sound of a conference on real-estate or something like that. There are surprisingly few sources on the web for crowd sounds, and that's the best I could find, not having a suitably portable digital recording device. Perhaps I should have sped it up a bit to give it a higher more "young adult" tone?

well, as usual you dont disappoint damian.. good job.. the structure and flow is indeed better than the first.. if i HAD to be picky.. wait time was a little long for a file that size maybe you could get away with preloading less frames or something anyways good job.. you have my 5

Luis

Author's Response:

Thanks, Luis. That's a good idea to have the last bit stream. I'd just hate for the 56k ers out there to not get the full effect, you know.
