Good stufff

I always found self portraits to be really difficult to do, I had to do em alot in high school and college. I like that you have hints of blue and green in the shading, really brings lushness to the skin tone. I think maybe the right eye feels a little small. Then again, maybe thats just how you look, faces arent always as symmetrical as books have you believe.

The fact you made the portrait so large reminds me of Chuck Close's portraits.

Yeah, this was my final product at the end of a self portrait project in college so i had done a fair few leading up to it, focusing on getting a good colour palette in mind ready for this one mostly. Can't say i'm a fan of Chuck Close but i can see why the size aspect relates, I focused on artists like Jenny Saville and Lucien Freud mainly.

I really like that the coloring looks washy and that you didnt stay within the lines. Its refreshing to see more unpolished art.

I like the composition of this piece. I particularly like how contrasty the world outside is to the inside. I used to have a stalker gf and this reminds me of her.

I think it looks good. lovely color on the eyes. Might be nitpicky but i hate the minion 2009 thing up on the upper right. Maybe it could have been light blue or something so its not so distracting

Nice marrage of type and image

I really like how the handwritten type works with the image.
Kick ass concert poster/thing. I think the oct 29 part looks weird separated like that. If you wanted to emphasize the date it makes me wonder why it wasnt bigger rather than simply in an isolated spot? knittpickin here.

Thanks! Your right though! To be honest, i did all the stuff that actually specified stuff about the actual show last. I'm not sure if it was due to the fact i actually hadn't got the info about the show until when i was fishing up the image or not, but more than anything i wanted to make sure i had a really wicked looking image, regardless of the show info, so it ended up getting crammed in a somewhat awkward spot. Thanks for the input! I'll keep it mind for the next flier.
