You finished it finally!

Well it did take you ages but man great job finishing this little gem up. very stylish and well put together, your backgrounds alone make it a beautiful piece. Well I couldnt find anything wrong with it so you get a pat on the back. good job jose.

Well its good to see someone finally getting around to reviving the battlegrounds series.. great job, the photoshop work was phenomenal and the length of the movie was so substantial you really went the extra mile. Great job once again

Well I know how long you've been working on this, and it came together quite nicely.. i think your friend did an equally good job hooking you up with the music track. I look forward to next year or whenever you manage to finish the next one. Good job!

Nice Characters

Very nice character designs, at first I wasnt really sure where you were gonna go with those little black demon's but by the end of the movie they really had some personality. Great job on the graphics, I can really tell how much work you put into delivering sharp gfx and interesting perspectives.
The synching with the music was also pretty effective. Good Song choice.
If theres anything I would recommend it would be to get a little more agressive with your animation during your action scenes. The action stills while very effective should be using in conjunction with all out fbf action. Yes its a bit more work but I think your work deserves it, with the song changing tempo and all those demons attacking him i could really see a bad ass fbf of him slashing through 20 of em.
Anyways good job, hope to see more of your work soon.

Not bad

Well I liked that you handled a subject that isnt so overused, wether you did it for a school project or not is I gues irrelevant. Anyways I think your quick perspective shifts were good but could be done better. Also noticed a few areas where the backgroudn movie color could be scene. Be a little more careful, making sure your objects bleed beyond the movie borders.. otherwise you have ugly blank spots.
As for your style you need to do one of two things..
1- if you want to stay rough looking then really make it rough .. right now its kind of in an inbetween stage and it doesnt really register as a true style..

["Time of your life"]

not much substance

I wasnt all that thrilled with this piece.
There was no real reason to have made it at a higher tempo. it added nothing to the animation.
The lip synch was off, there seemed to be no mouth movements for the 'sssss' or 'shhh' it looked like some pokemon episode with only 2 varietes of lip movements.
the drawing itself was pretty good and you could have used that so much better than you did. The boring presentation was the biggest drawback.
I didnt mind so much that the character just sings the song for the whole animation but atleast change the angles once in awhile.. maybe have a birds eye.. or first person view you know make it interesting to look at. I think you relied to heavily on having the song make your animation good and that is never a good idea.

[NG Time Trial V]

masterful

this time trial was truly something special to put together, its been an honor having all these people contribute their efforts. congrats! and now for my individual reviews.

Shinkuro: excellent pacing.. i think you really took advantage of the high adrenaline rush created by the audio.. your zooming mini-cutscenes were something quite cool and unique.. very refreshing.

Sqeezy: pretty good... i think you can do better, the end felt a little rushed, in the beginning the animation and audio were right on the mark by the end it felt like there was just filler tweens. but overall good job as usual.

Needle: by far the worst of the group.. i mean the artwork was so sharp what are you trying to take my fingers off? hehe excellent job man. Everytime i look at it i find some new little happy quirk. The pacing was great and i have no clue how you came up with this solution.

Afro: great pacing as well.. another great example of taking advantage of the high tempo.
the pinball scene in particular was about as coherent with the audio that you could want. man it gave me chills.

[Artificial High]

nice mixing pot of artists

Pro:Like the constant animation.. really works well for the video and the transitions are seemless into the next artists work.
The randomness is what makes this work well I liked that alot.

Cons: The 3d effects in the beginning were totally unnecessary and proabably my only gripe with the film. Im positive they added a good 15 seconds extra of loading time and for what?
Nowhere in the movie are 3d effects used, i just found it an unecessary accessory. I think making handrawn credits would have not only saved loading time but also would have further matched the style of the movie.
Another I would think about is maybe have the name up on the upper left disappear after a little while.. got kind of distracting after awhile..

Overall good job. keep it up.
