One memory? That's tough. I can't pick one.
When I first joined.
My earliest memories of Newgrounds would be, as a 10 year old, watching Randy Solem’s VGDC stuff- which inspired me to begin making web animations in the first place. I don’t think it counts as a memory of the site but I met Tom at PAX East several years ago and wanted to get a picture. What I was not prepared for was Tom engaging me in conversation, so I stammered on like an absolute jackass and, once I felt I had embarrassed myself sufficiently, thanked him for his time, turned on the dime and disappeared across the convention as quickly as I could. Absolute saint of a man. As sure as I am that I was not his first nor last interaction like that I really wish I hadn’t been so starstruck and made a half decent impression.
Once back in 2013. I played Geometry Dash. It was the best game ever. The Soundtracks that were mostly made by @DJVI, I've jumped into this site and I was looking songs over there. There were incredibly many custom songs that were used in Particular levels daily. I started to interesting in this community.
In 2017, I've joined to NG as an Member. I sincerely posted there remixes, but then deleted later. I once was fan of Dubstep, loved to make dubstep beats, but I haven't been produced any dubstep due to school. Some years went fast. I'm fan of K-391 since 2014, he was known as @keosni391. I've listened them all. It was incredible! Once I changed my production genre to Hands Up in 2018, because of him. I made particular FL Studio project re-creations of his tracks and uploaded them on YT.
I liked NG Mostly about Animations and Music on the platform. I also remember how NG kept old layout from where I've discovered in 2013 to 2017. the Content was unique. This is what I've loved, the most of content in Newgrounds.
Numa Numa guy called @gman250, Where he has uploaded "numa numa guy" in 2004. Once he has become a hero meme in 2000s. I loved this meme. It inspired me in 2013. I always singed this song in the car that I couldn't stop.
Newgrounds is also the place where there are many famous hands up producers like @B0unc3, @Atomicinc aka @Basspiratez, @EuphoriaSound, @Envy and @F-777. I loved their talent so much that I couldn't stop to listen them hahah. In February 2019, I started to re-upload songs in NG. then I've continued to make more stuff over there in August 2019.
I once uploaded "Dancerave World", the first song with vocals by me in general. I've got many fans after upload. They enjoyed my song and wrote positive comments and I appreciated them.
In December 2019, I had to take a break from NG due to College. then I came back n the game in May
Hoh man there's a lot of memories and interactions to choose from. I found this place when exploring the internet year back when I first got my computer and was obsessed with the Pico games because at the time I had never seen anything like it. I'd spend hours trying to get through Picos school and getting frustrated when the psychic guy kept killing me.
Then finding all the amazing talents on the site like JohnnyUtah, Adam Phillips, SickAnimations etc. not long after making NG my go to site planted the seed that made me want to be an artist, so I guess in a sense I should thank Pico and the gang for where I am today lmao.
Actually as I type this I remembered showing my friend 300 Queers because I thought he'd find it funny. He didn't find it funny and instead assumed I was gay for years after.
(short story) well what can i say... been snoopin' around NG since 2007 to be honest... watching madness and looking at some random fan arts that i came a cross at the time along with some outlandish arts in the A section... how i found NG? well... gotta thank egoraptor on that one... other than that NG is still a chad from way back and up till this day...
Participating in game jams in the early 2010s!
@TheDyingSun @Luis Until we meet again
Ok ... I remember when I was walking around google looking for cool games and I saw the Newgrounds website as the fourth search result and since then I have been on that website directly. I met NG with my incredible 7 years, I created an account only in 2020 because before I was a total dumb ass. well, I consider this site my second home where my problems just don't exist and bla bla bla (Alan, insert an emotional and sad text here.) So, it would be really cool to win this Giveaway. Whatever, this is it.
Coming here for Pico Day was one of the coolest moments in my whole life. I've never been around so many like-minded, cool people! I took a ton of photos and had a great time with everyone. Meeting Oney in particular shattered my nutsack
I started posting art because of Jazza's competitions
Some of my favorite memories:
I think some of the first animations I really enjoyed were the Madness Combat animations. There was a fan made animation called Maximum Ninja, and that was actually what I based my first username off of. It was maxninja.
The torture chamber lmao
Discovering that there was nsfw content on NG at like age 11
The 2013(?) redesign, I remember the site going down but getting to watch a lot of quality animations during it. I think that was when I discovered Tar Boy and uhh the I forget the series name but the animation was called "The Last of the Dashkin" I think.
I remember LUCKY DAY FOREVER getting animation of the year I think. That's still one of my favorite animations to this day and I show it to all my friends.
I remember Edd Gould's passing and how it really hit me when I saw the news on NG. I really loved his content.
This website has been a part of my life since I was a little kid and I hope it sticks around for a lot longer than a quarter century.
Man i remember waaay back in 2008, stumblin upon Newgrounds by accident!
Pretty sure the first thing i ever saw here was the Sonic Shorts volume 1 by the Paradox Team, someone had it uploaded on youtube and i clicked on a link someone angrily sourced in the comments heheh.
At the time i had no idea what i was watching, but looking at the corner of each scene i saw lil names and i was like "woah, multiple internet people worked on this? thats so cool!"
Just the glee of coming home after a schoolday and watch stickmen getting murdered left and right, playing parking games on the go and countless dressing games...
Was such a wonderful experience, even something as waiting for the page to load kinda added to the "stuck in my memory forever" factor.
But shameful of me i never had the balls to make an account for some reason!
I really put NG on a pedestal and thought i wouldnt add anything to the community.... Thats why now im so invested! Not only i love this place and its such a fun internet experience and treasure trove of memories, but i gotta make up for the decade i havent been in here!!
Love you all guys,
Maf
The day i got my first part time job, was the same day i finally got scouted for the art portal. Felt like i was walking on air.
I like that time Rig stopped SirTom93 from setting his school on fire on another continent. The Dickneck trend was pretty solid too
@Phobotech I had to have watched that dozens and dozens of times. It's still really funny
I remember when I first started my channel on Newgrounds. I just like To post stuff for people who like my content. And that’s what I will always do. MAKE. PEOPLE. HAPPY.
@Snackers how tf did I miss this
I'm the fake fan smh
Yooo hell yeah Luis, respect that you're doin this
One of my favourite memories tho is when the first unofficial newgrounds discord server went up. I was in a horrible relationship at the time and basically couldn't have any male friends lmao. I felt scared and nervous to join a call with all of these people I have or haven't met, and ended up with friends where I made memories later on that I hold very near and dear to my heart. I know it sounds dumb, but that initial call was horribly scary for me at the time LOL but because of that I've met the greatest of friends and one very very special person I don't think I'd ever meet otherwise
thats neat. yea it can be kind of intimating so kudos to you for taking that leap of faith!

I heard about newgrounds from this youtuber Jazza. He said he made games and animations in this website with people he met there. I came to the site and got hooked. It looked like the internet that I only saw in the movies, at last my search was complete. The only other site that I found was as cool as newgrounds is hexrpg.
So my interaction with this site, that is close to my heart is the first time I got blammed. I had just gotten myself a graphics tablet and wanted to learn animation. I made a simple ball bouncing animation in flash and uploaded it to newgrounds. It was blammed the same day. I was like, wow people actually saw my animation and said it was bad, and the site threw my test animation out. It was like the site was alive. I was sad for sometime, yes, but the fact that my video was thrown out, just blew my mind. It never happens with any other website. I got hooked on newgrounds ever since.
