Greetings new (and old) NG users

Posted by Luis - August 8th, 2019

Saw a bump of new activity on the website and thought i'd dust off my userpage post and post a new one.

I've been mostly active on the art portal side of stuff. I don't have time for much these days but I still NEED my creative outlet to manifest itself in some way, so I've been making animated gifs. They are fun to make, they usually only take an hour or so and I can get my fix and still have a pulse in the community.

If you haven't got around to it, please do check out my latest art portal submissions. Let me know what you think, pound that like button or not, or whatever.

As I've said, i havent had time to really dive into my large projects, I will do at some point, that's my best outlook. I'm usually pretty good about replying to DM's and my social platforms outside of here are just twitter mostly. I use instagram, but mostly for my other hobby of finding weird drinks and visiting weird countries. I throw my art there too, but mostly its just cocktail art.

I forgot that NG has the ability to post WIP's to submissions, so with my latest gif (Bowser) i was able to show some of the construction of it. I'll continue to do so moving forward.

On a personal life note, I am still on my travel bullshit, i am roughly 4 years away from having visited every country in Europe. I'm pretty stoked and have become kind of obsessed about achieving that being so close, my next few stops include Ukraine, Macedonia, Malta and Estonia.

See u later!

Do you get sad when you get a new passport and lose your progress?

Send me a souvenir, please.

@TomFulp make luis level 60

One day we'll finish that game Luis... I promise...

I agree with @Kieran. Do it Tom!

Love ya Luis!

Remember me? :v
Meet up with the seagulls and the big bridge and the ocean and with a ninja?

i need more clues than that

What has been your favorite country so far?

Interesting, my best buddy in the world (age 74) and his kid (who has recently graduated high school) are also hitting the same countries in eastern Europe very soon. Be a good boy, mind your P's and Q's, hope you keep having a great time! 'No matter where you go, there you are'

@Blackan @Luis Harbour Bridge :v

damn its been 10 years since that meet up!

@Blackan @Luis Now you remember :3

Hi Luis remember me

Are you still working on that HD remaster of Castle Crashing the Beard :)?

yes. its like 90% done, we need to just close that 10!

@Prid-Outing @Luis any update :)?

Interesting how this seemed aimed at (mostly?) new users and yet pretty much all the ones popping up in the comments are old and long forgotten ones... the site definitely has been seeing a surge of both! Old users coming back, and then Tumblr, YT, some peeps from Deviant Art and TikTok and what-not in smaller doses. Wonder what great migration's next now...

Always a pleasure to view those GIFs, and in regard to Estonia, if you haven't taken that trip already: I've been flying over there for a few years now. If you by any chance want to meet up, for lunch or whatever, feel free to send a PM when time comes. Would be pretty cool to sit down with some of y'all NG legends.

I'll keep you in mind next time I'm out and about. I went in September, it was pretty cool. I was in poland last weekend. I'll probably be back in the area in Lithuania at some point next year to wrap up that side of europe.

Ah man already! Yeah definitely feel free to reach out when you know when, wouldn't mind taking a trip to Lithuania too, been there a couple times and it's a great place. Very cheap honey/pollen - part of why I do these trips. :)

As for Poland I'm heading off to Krakow in March myself - I hear it's pretty much the only European city that wasn't bombed during the world wars, apart from places in neutral/overtaken countries. Apparently the Germans were hoping to make it their capital when they'd taken over, it's supposed to be a special place.

Yeah Kraków I found more fun than Warsaw which get more like Brussels. Touristy and mostly older tourists. Loved polish food in general I’d go back one day.

Trying to not get my expectations too high now. :) Sounds promising! I started putting lemon in my tea a while after the last flight past Poland too, simple traditions that make a world of difference. They do seem to have pretty foody food.

And beetroot soup! I love beetroot. Seems to be a thing in all Baltic countries.

not really that keen on sprits that i've had in those parts of the world. Very licorice-ey tasting

Probably healthy. :) Germans do have their Underberg, and personally I'm a big fan of Riga Black Balsam, which yeah, it does have that kind of flavor...

At least Vodka's pretty neutral. ;)

I should add I rarely drink spirits though. Their sauerkraut juice is pretty piquant an alternative!
