Yup another Toronto meet write-up.
Actually its quite entertaining to read these as you realize how everyone has a unique experience of the shared event. I think the theatre aspect of this meet was really cool. I think it frames the community piece of it so nicely. Seeing stuff from your peers on a giant screen and being able to walk over and punch the people that made that animation (if you wanted to) is kind of a surreal experience. Hopefully that sort of screening piece can somehow become the centerpiece of all the meets.
In my past life of meets it was always challenging to find something to focus the main day of a meet up on. While renting a theater in London or NYC is maybe out of the question, i think it would have really made those meets that much more special. Ah well. Thank you for everyone involved in putting it together. I feel so spoiled being able to just fly in and show up and just have it all come together. Im looking forward to the next one. I think im probably done with ng events for this year but ill see if i can think of something fun for 2024.
For now, i need to get back to that ax throwing game. I was suprised how many people asked about it! Maybe its the kick in the dick i needed. Idk.
i luv my old coworkers
