Wow you seem so unproductive...

yet you squeek this in. Good job joesefina. Rather than leave you the typical glowing review like a good friend ill leave a harsh and honest one.

Well actually i liked it, your animation is really getting alot better. I did notice the quality take a slant as the movie progressed though... either you were running thin on time or cutting corners but i did manage to notice it.

Your camera angles sometimes were kind of boring.. specially on the pumpkin part, again its probably lack of time im guessing but a really exciting scene managedto seem kind of dull. I suggest taking a glance at Mindchambers pico unloaded flick.. its got a good helping of carefully chosen camera angles to maximize the excitement of a character dealing with multiple enemies at once.

Your typography, (yes i am a big nerd that notices that) is excellent. I have no complaints there, you have great design instincts and even your credits are appealing to sit through.

I know you are having some technical issues with synching of audio with speech but even still i noticed that the mouth movements chosen arent always the most effective ones.
Your pal Tommo is particularly good at that, may want to chat it up with him and maybe get some pointers on that... other than that good job. I wish i could have been harsher but its a fairly solid episode ... dont go overboard on flash filters!!

refreshing

Hi Manuel,
I always follow your work so i thought it would be only fitting for me to review it.
I liked this flick, you always seem to explore unusual more mature topics and that is quite refreshing in a site obsessed with video game spoofs and lord of the rings handjobs.
I think my only criticism would be to take more sensitivity to your typography. The font you used seemed very haphazard, and unthoughtful. I like the 'plainness' of it but i think there are more 'machined' and corporate fonts out there that you could have used to really stick to your theme of automation and unindividuality.
Animation was fitting and the music was cool.

Wow so you finally emerged from the shadows! Anyways I thought this was quite good, I usually dont dig video game related humor but youre a genius. Man I had forgotten all about blaster master.
What a rediculous storyline indeed, anyhow the animation was sharp as usual, the humor was really edgy and engaging, the sprite use was phenomenal and well even at 7 mins i felt like i still could watch another 7. Good job welcome back and yea dont disappear again.

It was refreshing to see this, your really pushing the png integration into a different level. Your animation was sharp as well.. good expressions on your characters and just nice clean palette and camera angles. Good job im adding you to my favorites.
If i have to find one thing to consider it would be to add a few more frames to your running animations sometimes it seemed too clunky and sharp of a transition. Very nitpicky stuff but its hard to find things wrong with it.

unmistakable style

well definately get a 10 on your style, you've truly made it very you and one can spot it a mile away. As usual great perspective choices and camera angles, i didnt like this as much as some of the other pieces of yours, but its always good to see your work. Tough song to pull off in an animation but you handled it well, and your imagination is very refreshing. good luck on future projectz.

[Oh My God - Episode 3]

this one was boring

This one wasnt very entertaining... you are choosing very wierd spots to end your episodes on... the first episode was nice and it kept you wondering.. the second one was eh. ok ill buy it... this one though... left me no hunger for the next episode... my suggestion is either find a good way of closing your episodes or just merge episodes together to make each a stronger piece in itself.. your relying too much on having the next episode explain shit and its becoming annoying because episodes like this one are way too short and uninviting to get excited about the series.

Artwise, clean style i like it.. you do a good job. zonzo does a good job on his sound work as well..

dont get too ambitious with the volumes and volumes of episodes thing.. the broken saints pieces are a good example of oversaturation.... you have to have been a very faithful fan to be able to enjoy it and its 49 billion episodes.. it locks out the casual viewer.

its getting there

Well I did enjoy this flick more than hoy te amo. The song selection was better and the flow just seemed more inviting.

You are a master of perspective selection. You seem to know exactly the perspectives you need to use to get the most out of the action. really great job with that.

I'm still not totally sold on the palette. but it could be that im still getting used to it. I guess i'm just used to a more lush palette. could just be personal preference.. even if you had a palette of washed out colors i think i could enjoy it more than just a really limited set of colors per say?

Music-wise, I think that it starts out great .. very ambitious animation, and perspectives... as you near the end you can sort of begin to see your energy level dying down a bit. There is less and less frame by frame and the action itself becomes less and less jam packed.. cant say I blame ya it happens to every animator as the end looms. however for a piece such as the one you chose its a bit more noticeable because it has such a powerful punch at the end. theres so many instruments and percussion instruments culminating for that grand finale i really miss that translation in your animation at the end.. most of the frames are devoted to slow scrolling stills or muddled animations.

Overall:
Concept is great, perspectives awesome, color palette i can get used to i guess, you get a little flat at the end id either take a break from it or really work on finishing strong. good luck

hated the first one, this one was pretty good

Well i really hated the first one it was toe simple, the song was annoying and it was predictable.. this one was more complex and it just worked better.. song was well chosen.
your flash techniques work well with the style and i can see that theyve reached a new level of sophistication. Good job, I'm glad to see you've turned this thing around and appealed to grumpy people like myself. Good job

[Artificial High 3]

my 1 goes to nanko or whatever his name is

months to do something that could take the average person 10 minutes. Usually I like your work sqeezy, this time i dont. the mish mash of random chaacters and dancing line/blobs just didnt do it for me anymore... it was fine when you just started flash but now i come to expect greater things.
It felt uninspired and just fluf designed to finger the clits of the 13 yr old ng audience.
i think that nanoko is the only one that actually took the time to think about his entry as a whole rather than just throwing whatever poo comes out of your brain to fill up your part in the song.

This entry is a good lesson to making a successful movie at ng:

1- include dancing lines
2- use pop culture icons.. kirby.. strongbad.. link
3- use unfunny computer language lolzah
4- trace trace trace
