You must be indian

I sound nothing like that. But i did like my arm being a giant scribbly mess... and the animal porn. Thats the high graphics and style points.

hashbrown responds:

Pezboy440 responds:

Paranoia responds:

ABUSIVE!!!

stylish

Really dig that music at the beginning its very stylish and remiscent of the bellagio..

I think that in your next movie you should try and work with less, like try and get by without filters, really push yourself. Filters are still too processor heavy to be used extensively as tempting as they may be. Also I think in some instances using razor sharp graphics would be better anyway.. like the gun falling part, a razor sharp gun with its reflection gleaming as it passes the screen would have been more effective than a vertical blur i think.

Also something to look out for is the subtleties in your work, its all about the little touches that make your work really top notch and well thought out. like maybe a stray shoelace fbf when hes tidying his boot. nothing too laborous just some 'it' factor to really feel fancier in execution than it is in reality.. like for instance in my nene movies ive made the face and head as a graphic but the hair is always on a back layer and all fbf ... that way even when i recycle the face it still has a touch of individuality.. would be cool to see something like that on pico, some of his movements were right fully tweened but you should sprinkle in a little pixie fbf dust to give it that edge that your stuff is top tier.

Nice work, i like the mood you set up for it, your music was appropriate and your environments are really well done.

happy birthday :)

Masonogy1 responds:

Yeah, Flash 8 was tempting for the filter use, but I optimised it enough to run smooth on most computers, but I do agree sharp graphics would work well in parts, but filters were so much of a god send because they saved me time DRAMATICALLY!

Yeah I checked out on e of your tutorials on youtube a while ago and I really like that frame by frame pointer! I am still gettying used to fbf because its so tedious, but I think recycling would save alot of time!

Thanks for the review buddy, now to complete your game! :)

awesome but too short

I think you really should buckle down and do the whole game as a movie rather than installments.. its such a cool idea and the execution is so well done, it was such a cocktease to just taste the tip of your flash cock. Anyway i gave high marks for the sound.. it is a great example of what a difference well placed sound makes .. really keeps the store suspensful and engaging. I think that some of the angles and effects feel forced.. while cool to use i think you should use effects that make sense. the bullet time didnt feel that necessary and actually seemed to slow down things too much. also when Cassandra and pico cross paths i think that the crop on the stare should have not had a blur on it. i think you really get a better sense of the tightness of the stare with a crop thats razor sharp. you can really feel the tension of the screen squeezing on the stare of these characters..
Great job lalo, you have alot of raw talent.

Lalo responds:

thanks luis, im happy you reviewed and noticed these little details that make an animation come to life, yeah i know its short, and dividing it its a pain in the ass for viewers, once im done ill put them all together in a single flash file and see how it looks... part 3 will be neat :)

simplicity is sometimes best

really enjoyed the simplicity of the idea and the touches of old school pico lore with the little map of the diner at the end of it..
character expressions were well done, i never actually thought of what nene might sound like but that was pretty comfortable enough to adopt. i think maybe cleaning up your line work was my only gripe particularly in the final screen.. may as well clean that booger up if we are gonna be seeing it for prolonged periods.

Nogfish responds:

I'll definitely move to clean it up once I have a free moment, after I'm done with all these character battles and whatnot,

Thank you for the review, it is much appreciated...Glad you enjoyed this.

Great atmosphere

Been awhile since i ran across your stuff but it was great to do so on this occasion, you've really refined your ability to give a story and environment a 'mood'. I think horror and dark themes are especially hard to deal with in flash and here at newgrounds in general but you've really done a nice job carving a nice sized niche for yourself.
I think my only gripe is that at the beginning the play button didnt feel like it was obvious enough .. or maybe its early in the morning and im not on my toes. but thats the only thing i really had an issue with from a functionality stand point. I think also that it would be cool to integrate your credits into the movie to give it even more of an integrated feel. I could really see the use of some good typography and a little tlc on the titling as you tell the story.

Nice work.

SickDeathFiend responds:

haha sarcasm?

Hi.

You've been favorited

LuckyLollipopLad responds:

Finally - a review from Luis! Glad you liked.

I first thought you were talking to me, but no - it's submission that's been favourited.

You love animation so much you speak to animations in the 2nd person!

Refreshing

I gave it high style and graphic marks for the fact that its rare for artists to blatantly use rotoscoping as the centerpiece of the presentation, its quite refreshing and i hope that it inspires others to consider it. The whole roto thing is so contraversial, and i found it quite cool that you took it head on and just said whatever it is what it is.
Nice work I think the presentation and style of animation perfectly suited the humor of Wierd al's song.

-L

CapnBob responds:

I'm not sure why people are down on rotoscoping, I could have done the whole thing in a stylized manner freehand like I did with the turtle and I'd have finished faster and nobody would complain about the look. Rotoscoping is actually harder and takes longer, but I used it because I wanted to make sure that people familiar with the show wouldn't have doubts about what scene was being referenced and because it was an interesting challenge.

pretty good, needs to feel more complete

i think you did a great job animating it, would a preferred to see the whole piece feel more finished, the menu and end screen feel like an afterthought and if youre gonna bust your ass on the animation it makes sense to spend another 20 mins or whatever beautifying the main menu/end screen.

Good job youre a talented guy.

*Im suprised Rudy hasnt found a way to post pictures of his eye in this review.

Lalo responds:

yeah i got blocked when i finished the movie, i was pretty histeric because i could barely meet the deadlineand i lost many chances to have fun to finish this... credits will be better on the next one

Interesting blurb
