Very cool style.. i liked the subtle knocks on commercial products... The part wwith the robot using the truck as a skateboard was classic.

Great work.

I guess if i had to offer any constructive criticism is to be careful not to over use the tween shift pan effect. It looks great in moderation. This second part is much stronger than the first one because it feels like you used the effect when it gave you the most bang for your buck. I found its use in the first part over abundant and a bit overkill to the point where it took away its 'cool factor'.

Great stuff. Gotta keep an eye on you.

nice recap

I love the concept behind things like this, for someone who doesnt quite visit the portal nearly enough, its cool to go through this and see some of the highlights of the year. Good job squeezing it in today.

Points to consider:

I think the typography at the beginning was weak. I think a serif font like Times Roman would have felt more appropriate. Right now its kind of an akward relationship having the very weathered old fashioned, vintage filmstrip look being matched up with a very modern contemporary font.

While im on the subject of typography, some of the sentences had way to large of spaces between the words, was that intentional?

Typography aside, i think it had pretty good pacing, the song felt appropriate and it was a nice little time capsule of a piece.

Yea, now that you mention it, the font seems out of place, but I wanted it to be a little similar to my own writting then to something default on a program. The spacing naturally comes in like that, has something to do with font, it bothered me, but I had a liking for the letters, so I set the spacing aside.

Its so wierd how you post about how unmotivated you are and your work is so motivating to watch. This was a pretty cool little short. I know you were fighting against the clock like usual but it looks good. It doesnt look rushed and the animation is fitting for the video.

Look forward to seeing a more productive side of you next year.

i like the pattern of the leopard print and the song, i dont like seeing so much recycled things though.. i almost prefer it when you just got too lazy to lip synch it and you left his face blank, instead of just seeing madness animations etc.

Hopefully on the next one you wont just recycle stuff from this one.
